Cavil Favourites

The mosaic on Cavil Mall, looking worse for wear these days, but still full of colourful reminders of our past.

How many have taken photos at the water fountain? With their own children in the picture?

This is a bit of a rarity, street art actually well placed.

Another firm favourite with the tourists and another source of many holiday snaps.
Still, on closer look the detail in this piece is pretty amazing.

Not to mention the two old friends in either side of the Throne.

Now the first picture below is the one you will find on the Gold Coast Council site. A bit sad really, as this would have to be the most child friendly piece of art I know of. It is accessible to small hands to explore the hundreds of different items cast in bronze, and will also keep grown ups amused as they go down memory lane with many of the items too.

Finally, to this gentleman, Sir Bruce Small, he was Lord Mayor for two terms on the Gold Coast, and promoted the Coast as a tourist destination passionately. His belief is what made the Coast the tourist mecca it is today.
